Motorcycle Detailing

What Is It?
Motorcycle detailing starts with restoring and ends with protecting.
Spring, summer, and fall each has its temperate and hazardous environments. Protecting your motorcycle throughout the riding season is key for long lasting durability.
Many people forgo protection thinking that they'll keep it clean throughout the season. We all know life keeps us busy and sometimes we don't have the free time to do it ourselves.
There are lots of resources out there about how to maintain your vehicle so when it comes to not knowing how to, it no longer the issue. Just like all my services, it's for those who don't have time, but want the quality, experience and trust of a qualified detailer.

My most common motorcycle detail is Motorcycle Wash/Protect/Shine detail service. I do exactly as the service says.

First I'll wash the Motorcycle, meaning I'll detail everything thoroughly! Getting the Motorcycle completely dried is key when preparing the surface for paint correction. I also decontaminate all body parts of the Motorcycle, along with clay-barring and exposed areas.

Then I wash again to get all the residue off from either process. Now that all surfaces have been washed and dried completely we can move onto the 2-step paint correction process.

I'll be using a DA polished to compound light scratches and polish out light marring. Then I'll use paint prep to remove any excess oils from the compound or polish. After paint prep has been applied I can now then apply 2 paint sealants. 1 Paint Sealant is for water resistance and the other is for gloss.

After that I'll polish all chrome and metal piping. Then I clean gauges, gas cap covers. Post inspection requires me fully looking over the motorcycle with an inspection light and fixing any spotting the motorcycle.

 Motorcycle Ceramic Coating

Motorcycle Ceramic Coating keeps your Motorcycle looking good all year round. It's a sacrificial layer of protection for your motorcycle. For example bug etching or high impact bugs. The Ceramic coating protects against chemical damage that would normally leave a permanent stain on your motorcycle. Also Ceramic coating gets applied to tail pipes, folks, headlights, covers, gas tanks, windshield and other exposed motorcycle parts.

Keep in mind this is a long term product that can last years, but it will need help along the way. Manufacturers recommend recoating the motorcycle once a year to rejuvenate low or worn out areas.

The application process is still the same for all Ceramic coating. Wash, decontaminate, wash, claybar, wash, then dry absolutely everything! Coatings don't mix well with water before they cure. The first layer of ceramic coating gets applied then inspection. The another layer will go down to finalize the coat. Curing will take 48 hrs. Then another 2 weeks to cure in the environment outside. After the 2 weeks, I invite you back to hand wash the Motorcycle. After the wash I will inspect and look for high spot. I will knock the high spots off the coating. This will deepen the gloss of the Motorcycles paint. It deepens even more as the coating cures over time.
